Fees and Dates

Registration Opens September 12, 2022 @ 5 PM  Mountain Time for the 2023 race.

This is not an easy race to be taken lightly, so choose your category to suit your springtime fitness level.

The total field of racers is limited to 800 participants 

 Entry is subject to UT sales taxes. This event uses Block Pricing except for the 15-mile challenge.  The earlier you register the lower the price.

Each participant will receive an expertly marked course, course support, access to the post-race band,  massage and recovery drinks, post-race meal,  goodie bag, and finisher prize.

All JR’s are required to enter a waitlist when registering. Once on the list submit your waiver, application, and supporting documents. Once you are accepted you will be moved into the event.

 

  1. Anyone under 18 must register for one of the JR waitlists prior to entering the event. If you attempt to register in another category prior to approval we reserve the right to remove you from the roster and refund your entry.
  2. No one under 12 may race the 15-mile event. 
  3. No one under the age of 14 may race for the 50, 100, or stage races. 
  4. To qualify to race the 50 Mile or longer you must demonstrate you have done a race at least 25 miles in length in the past and you have pre-ridden the course and provided proof.
    1. note: NICA races alone do not qualify a minor to do this race regardless of standings
  5. Racers between 14 -16 must submit a resume and proof of successful pre-ride ( GPX or STRAVA Link finishing 8 hours or less)  or previous True Grit Epic finish ( link to results )         
  6. EXCEPTIONS
    1. The JR completes course pre-rides ( in different segments) Must include Zen, Barrel Ride, and Barrel Rolls + 6-hour training ride with Strava/Gramin provided for all/OR
    2. The JR completes the race resume with training rides & a parent is riding with the child in the race. ( proof of registration required)
  7. ALL JR racers MUST submit a signed waiver from a parent before they can enter the event.
  8. All racers under 18 must have a chaperon on site watching out for their racing progress.
  9. The minimum age is determined by the racer’s age on race day.

    1. The application MUST be filled out by EVERY JR racer under 18 , Strava links must be provided. We will not search for your Strava record. The more thought that is put into your resume the better your chances to race.

When the race or a specific category is full we will start a waitlist.

The waitlist is managed with the registration. When a spot opens up we will accept the next person on the list.

All JR’s must sign up on a waitlist, then submit their waiver and application. Once accepted they will be let into the event.

GRO CANCELLATIONS POLICY 

No refunds, No exceptions.

We begin planning, permitting,  and purchasing items for an event well in advance based on your pre-registration. Therefore we have a strict no refund policy. Be aware when you decide to register. We feel like our flexible transfer and change policies should accommodate most people and situations.

    1.  up to 45 Days Prior to the event:  Deadline to Defer to the following year. A fee may apply. You must transfer to the same race and Category.
    2.  up to 10 Days Prior to the Event;
      1. You may transfer your entry to a different participant using the online transfer tool. Registration is transferable to the current event and year only. The deadline to Transfer is 10 days prior to the event online.
      2. You may change to a different category for a fee. The last day to make changes is 10 days prior to the race.
      3. If there is a waitlist in your category, you may request a credit or refund if there is a person who can take your spot off the waitlist.
      4. You may cancel your entry and receive a credit valued at 40% of your entry fee to use toward any GRO event within 1 year of cancellation. You MUST cancel no less than 10 days prior to the scheduled event.
    3. 9-0 Days before the Event:  Cancellations less than 10 days prior to an event and no-shows do not qualify for a credit.

     

     

    Cancelations must be made in writing to info@groraces.com. Cancelation inquires will not be accepted via text or social media messaging.

This means there may come a time when a race must be delayed,  shortened or canceled due to Mother Nature or other uncontrollable circumstances. In this situation we will do our best to modifying times so we can get fair results, but under no circumstances will refunds be issued.

     

    exception: If the event is canceled due to a second COVID 19 shutdown participants can either be transferred to a future year or receive a %50 credit to another GRO Race.

Event Delays or Cancellations

This means there may come a time when a race must be delayed,  shortened or canceled due to Mother Nature or other uncontrollable circumstances. In this situation we will do our best to modifying time so we can get fair results, but under no circumstances will refunds be issued.

If you can not make the event due to a positive covid test you can receive a 50% credit up to 1 day before the event. Proof of a positive test within 72 hours of the scheduled event from you or a member of your household must be submitted via email within 3 days of the event dates.

If the event is canceled due to a second COVID 19 shutdown participants can either be transferred to a future year or receive a %50 credit to another GRO Race.

YOU Can now edit items on your registration if you have a Bikereg Account.  Racer name, phone, address, and email. You can also change the team category or team names. 

Transfers and Category Changes must be made through your Bike Reg Account. Some actions are not allowed if you register as a guest. Change fees will apply.

If you change to a lessor distance you will not receive a refund on the price difference but we will not charge you a change fee.

If you change to a higher-priced category you will pay the change fee + the price difference.
